Why Isn’t Your Car Faster Than A Sports Car?

The speed of the car depends on many factors which include, weight, fuel, power, etc.
A sportscar can catch a speed of 400 km within minutes. How we define the speed of an object. The speed of any object is defined as the rate at which the object moves. It is defined as the distance traveled per unit of time.

What makes a sports car to run fast?

Aerodynamic design:

The design of a sports car is aerodynamic which is the primary reason to increase car speed. Aerodynamic design offers minimum resistance to air or fluid when the body is moving. They become slippery against the wind resistance as they speed down. This is the reason why these high-performance cars are so fast.

Light Weight:

The speed of the car also depends on weight. Car external body is made up of A,
Aluminum and steel whereas the Sportscar body is build up with titanium and aluminum. Other components of a car are made of lightweight composite materials that help reduce the overall weight of a vehicle. This is also the reason why sports car doesn’t have storage space. You only find a space in which a bag of golf clubs can fit. In addition, they only have two seats and have much firmer and tighter suspensions.

Rear Wheel drive:

Sports cars use rear-wheel-drive transmission. It is a transmission in which power from the engine is transferred to the rear wheels of a vehicle via the driveshaft.

Engines:

Larger engines generally produce more horsepower by burning more fuel. For this reason, most automakers offer larger engines as options for buyers not concerned with fuel efficiency as much as speed. But large engines also increase the weight of Car which makes it difficult to move, so it requires more force by burning more fuel to run. We must create a balance between these two factors for the increasing speed of our Car.

Blowers:

The blower is used for moving air from either an outside source–referred to as
Vented air–or from cabin air past the heater core or air conditioning evaporator. Turbochargers and superchargers, known collectively as blowers,
Are another means of making a car go faster. Both of these devices force additional air into an engine’s combustion chambers,
Resulting in a more powerful combustion and more power for driving the car.

Power:

The motive force for a car is the engine. Every engine produces an amount of work-energy measured in mechanical horsepower. One horsepower is 550 foot-pounds per second. More power in generation from the engine means more power available to turn the wheels faster in the car.
