Every petrolhead treats his car like a lady, and this can be multiplied by several folds if the car is new.

So it is only logical to know the dos and do not’s when trying out your new ride!

The video by Engineering Explained dwells on the topic, and they explain how to get those first thousand or so miles on your car without wrecking its engine.

In essence, they talk about things that one must not do with a brand new car like giving full throttle, taking the RPM to the redline, using cruise control, frequent starting and stopping and towing other vehicles.

They also reveal several engine break-in procedures that are used in the likes of the Nissan GT-R, Acura NSX, Chevrolet Corvette.
