The video below shows a pair of stealth B-2A Spirit bombers performing a landing at a UK based Royal Air Force base.
The landing took place in the night and the photographer’s perspective makes the wings look as though they were flying like a UFO in midair.
The two massive bombers can be seen heading toward the videographer And apparently floating in the sky briefly.
Now, in fact, the planes fly at speeds of more than one hundred miles an hour as they approach the airbase at their final approach.
The video was originally posted by The Aviationist and was created by the;
UK Aviation Movies YouTube Channel’s Ben Ramsay.
The two bombers are flying into RAF Fairford.
RAF Fairford is the frequent temporary home of American bombers
Visiting the United Kingdom after a grueling transcontinental flight,
For those of you who are not aware.
The flight was monitored by plane spotters as it departed from Missouri’s ; Whiteman Air Force Base and arrived hours later in the UK.
The two aircraft involved are New York Spirit (call sign: Death11), and Spirit of Georgia (call sign: Death12)
So, just how do you track stealth warplanes exactly?
Generally speaking,
Air spotters must listen to the aircraft’s radio communication, air traffic controllers,
And support equipment such as an aerial refueling tanker to locate the movements of a specific aircraft.
Even a stealth bomber can’t escape detection during peacetime when carrying out a regular transit.
BAs part of NATO’s Air Force help, B-2 bombers have undergone rotation to RAF Fairford every two years since 2015.
Such stealth planes will perform ‘joint and allied training in Europe to boost bomber interoperability,’ according to the US Air Force Europe.
