Observe any signs of cracking or swelling especially on the susceptible bottom of the lower hose. Inspect that the hoses are not corroded and are being held firmly by the clamps. 2: Removing the hose Before either of the hoses are removed, drain the coolant from the system. Use an appropriate tool to remove the clamp. If the hoses won’t pull off easily, then be careful not to damage the radiator fitting by applying excessive force. The hose fittings on both the engine and the radiator have to be cleaned using sandpaper. 3: Verify the replacement Get new hoses and compare them with the removed ones and make sure that they have the same diameter and length. 4: Refit the hose Apply little sealant to the hose fittings and the make the clamps lose, they have to be placed over the hose ends before the hose is adjusted into position.
